K-8th Spring Rec Teams

2026 SPRING REC LEAGUE INFORMATION

General Info

  • Registration will open in early November 2025.

  • Lacrosse is a spring sport! The spring rec season runs from early-mid February through early May.

  • Rec teams exist so that all athletes have an opportunity to play a sport, regardless of skill level. All levels welcome & encouraged!

  • We’ll have one team per age group: K-2nd grade / 3rd-4th grade / 5th-6th grade / 7th-8th grade

  • Invite your child’s friends to come out and try the most fun sport!

Practice Schedule

  • Each team practices twice a week @ 4:30pm-6:00pm

  • Team practice days are dependent on registration numbers and field space & will be determined once registration opens

Practice Location

  • February & March @ Robb Field / Ocean Beach / 2525 Bacon Street, San Diego, CA 92107

  • April & May @ Santa Clara Rec Center / Mission Beach / 1008 Santa Clara Place, San Diego, CA 92109 (Robb Field closes in April & May)

Game Schedule & Locations

  • Game Schedule: Each team will play 2 back-to-back games on Saturdays for 10 games total. This means that we'‘ll have games on only 5 Saturdays instead of 10! The final schedule is released in early March.

  • Game Locations: Games will be at various locations in San Diego as far as Carlsbad.

Equipment

  • Each athlete will need: stick, goggles, mouthguard, & cleats or athletic shoes. Cleats are recommended, but not required. We’ll play on mostly grass fields.

  • FREE loaner sticks & goggles are available to use for all athletes.

  • Go HERE for all equipment questions & recommendations.

  • Jewelry & Pierced Ears: If your child is thinking of piercing her ears, don’t do it right before or during the spring season! Athletes are not allowed to have any jewelry on during our spring season games. Taped ears are not accepted by the refs. Earrings typically must remain in for 6-8 weeks after piercing. Summer is always the best time to do this if you have a child in sports. Our first spring rec games start late February. Please plan accordingly.

USA Lacrosse Membership Required (separate fee)

  • Every athlete is REQUIRED by the league to have a current USA Lacrosse Membership (insurance) through the end of the season (Mid-May). Memberships are $30 and are valid for one year.

  • If you are NOT currently a USA Lacrosse member and need to register check HERE.

  • If you ARE currently a USA Lacrosse member and need to check your membership status or renew, click HERE.

Our Commitment to Your Child

Our coaching staff is deeply committed to providing a comfortable learning environment for your athlete. Burnout, loss of self-confidence, and overall unhappiness with sports is very prevalent in the youth & high school sports world when athletes are pressured into performance, especially at a young age. Your child’s mental & emotional health is my top priority. I also work hard & take pride in ensuring correct fundamentals & skills are learned, which will set your child up for success at any level!
