Financial Assistance & FREE Loaner Equipment
If finances are a barrier to your athlete participating, we have a number of reduced rates available. Please do not hesitate to reach out, no questions asked. We always make it work. Email: Elise@SDGirlsLax.com
Free loaner sticks and goggles are available for any athlete to borrow. We understand the financial situation of buying equipment and certainly don’t want that to be a reason for a child to miss out on the great sport of lacrosse!
We also recommend to new players to use our free loaner equipment before making the commitment to purchase equipment.

Stick
Buying a stick can be a challenging task! The stick you choose depends on your level, your commitment to the sport, & the financial investment you want to make. Lacrosse Unlimited (858) 509-3719 in Solana Beach is a great place to visit with the experts to learn which stick is best for your child, especially for our high school athletes.
If you’re purchasing a stick on your own, make sure it’s a girls stick!! We have many athletes who have bought boys sticks by mistake, which are not legal for our game.
K-2nd/3rd: HERE is a great stick (options are small for this age group).
4th-8th grade: HERE is a great lower-priced starter stick.
You can also check Play It Again Sports, OfferUp, or Facebook Marketplace for sticks. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about a stick before purchase.

Goggles
The great thing about buying goggles is that most of our athletes use the same pair!
IMPORTANT! Everyone has a different size face, & sometimes a larger goggle is better for some than others. It’s best to try 2 sizes and see which fits better.
K-2nd: HERE
2nd-4th/5th grade: HERE
5th/6th-12th grade: HERE
FYI: Most high school athletes prefer black so that they match their uniforms. You can also check OfferUp or Facebook Marketplace for savings on goggles.

Mouthguard
Mouthguards are a personal preference but we do highly recommend buying one that is moldable. Every mouth is different!
Check out brand new Triad Mouthguards, a San Diego female-owned local brand (!!) HERE! This mouthguard is also made for athletes with braces.

Adult (age 10 or 11 & up): HERE
Dick’s Sporting Goods also has a very large selection of mouthguards.

Jewelry & Pierced Ears
If your child is thinking of piercing her ears, don’t do it right before or during the spring season!
Athletes are not allowed to have any jewelry on during our spring season games. Taped ears are not accepted by the refs.
Earrings typically must remain in for 6-8 weeks after piercing. Summer is always the best time to do this if you have a child in sports. Our first spring rec games start late February. Please plan accordingly.
